Recycled materials are always a great tool to incorporate into any art lesson. They encourage the children to interact with familiar objects in new ways. This is especially true when you have an entire group of children working together. In this situation each child witnesses the way that others imagine the object’s future use. They see the way that others incorporate these materials into their projects, and they become interested in the different ways that those around them see the same object in a completely different way. This interest demonstrates a curiosity in the world around them and the thought processes of others.
In this project the children were asked to build recycle robots. They could use some classroom materials in combination with recycled foam, old buttons, cloth scraps, straws, and some other mixed materials
