Garden To Go

Using a cut tree log and a handful of clay, the children made their own portable gardens. We shaped the clay into different sized pots and when it dried we painted it and sealed it with a glue mixture. When the Pots were ready for planting, we mixed grass seeds in with soil and filled our pots. I chose grass because it took about four days to sprout, and I wanted the children to see immediate results that would change everyday. They loved the little gardens, and it was the perfect project to begin together, but eventually send to their homes.
